Scotts Bluff National Monument hosts Christmas on the Prairie; interpretive event for children and their patents to relive the festivities of a prairie Christmas as soldiers and pioneers might have experienced at Fort Mitchell in 1866. Make decorations with traditional materials; corn husks, pinecones, feathers, paper and popcorn, children are encouraged to come in period costume.
